ABOUT CHUCK DEAL
I was always a skateboarder and musician growing up. Coming from the inner city of Milwaukee, I knew my situation was unique. My tastes were different than that of my friends and the aquaintances around me. I worked every angle I could to leave there so I could explore the world and feed my creative avenues. Construction was my ticket out. I moved to Los Angeles at the age of 26 in 2006 with my eyes wide and head set on a career. My heart thrived for big city life. I wanted to soak in a multitude of cultures. It was not until after I moved to downtown LA in 2010 where I aimed to fully get back to my creative roots. As a skateboarder and music producer I tried to make it. I met people from all over the world of great influence but something was always holding me back from success. I wasn't truly free. Stuck in a career I never really loved, I longed for creative freedom. I studied the arts and surrounded myself with fellow creatives. With the small skills I had from skateboard filming and shooting iphone skate photos, I took on my late step-father's camera; and with a little help from my friends who have careers in photography, I started to fully learn a new craft. Almost immeditately, I fell in love with the camera and the streets of Los Angeles embraced me.
